Volvo Trucks Japan

Services: Advertising, events, custom publishing, print, PR, web

The company: The world's second-largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer—with production in 17 countries and employing some 35,000—Volvo Trucks is part of the Volvo AB group, which also includes the Renault and Mack brands, and recently acquired Nissan Diesel (UD) of Japan.

The story: In 1995, Next began the production of På Väg, a magazine for Volvo Trucks' customers (and potential customers) in Japan, designed to build brand loyalty and increase awareness of this worldwide leader. This soon proved to be an ideal tool for the company in communicating its key messages to Japanese corporations and truck fleet owners and operators.

We also produced the DealerNet extranet for the company, which allows dealers immediate access not only to all price and technology information, but information from the company in Japanese. With the company's acquisition of Nissan Diesel, we are now working on the localization of Volvo Trucks' international employee magazine for the nearly 3,000 Nissan Diesel employees in Japan.
